We Are Here to Help
After a devastating infiltration of groundwater, a biomedical facility in the Boston area suffered substantial water damages. When a second water damage emergency occurred after our SERVPRO team arrived, we acted fast with extraction strategies to protect the building, healthcare workers, and patients.
Managing Microbial Concerns
Microbial threats were a concern that our team could not allow to spread. Full containment barriers were constructed to regulate moisture quickly. In addition, these zones were protected by hundreds of air scrubbers placed to trap migrating mold spores. The barriers also vented through filters to prevent microbial circulation.
Efficient Drying for Large Facilities
Within these containment zones, sensitive instrumentation of the facility was protected from water damage by directly covering the units or regulating airflow and humidity in the contained areas. Drying the building was a substantial task, requiring hundreds of units. Some of the key elements benefiting the fast recovery of the facility were:
• Trailered desiccant dehumidifiers
• Centrifugal air movers
• Axial air fans
• HEPA 500 air scrubbers
